New York City Fashion Week has once swiped the fashion world off its feet this winter at NYFW FW2018! It’s been a wild ride and NYC has seen a lot of new innovative and exciting fashion design take the stage.

The WDWF team had the chance to be up close and personal this week with one of the fashion world’s inspirational figures. Tadashi Shoji put on its runway show this past week, displaying one beautiful dress after the other. Before the show, we were able to see the behind the scenes of the looks, as well as interview Tadashi Shoji himself. Tadashi Shoji has been designing for the past seven years, creating amazing dresses with elegant draping to create beautiful dresses. Talking to Mr. Shoji, he shed his opinion on women’s fashion and societies views of the way women should dress. Tadashi’s goal for his line is create beautiful, sexy dresses that women do not need to feel ashamed by wearing. Mr. Shoji feels that a lot of women are shamed when they want to feel attractive and sexy, and should not be responsible for the negative attention that is drawn when a woman shines. With the beautiful dresses he has designed, he hopes to break those boundaries and set women free. With this beautiful message behind the line, the show was even more enjoyable and inspirational to watch as the models strutted down the runway. His message inspired us here at WDWF as feminists and as fashion-lovers.
